May

25th May 2022

This month we are delighted to say that we have had loads of school outings and activities happening again that haven't been able to happen over the last two years. We have been going swimming every Thursday. We have had Pat in doing Gaelic with us on Monday mornings.

On Monday, May 9th, the senior classroom travelled to Collooney to compete in the Cumann na mBunscol competition. A massive well done to all the boys and girls who showed brilliant skills and team effort in what were very tough and wet conditions. Our young girl's team put on a great performance against Cliffoney, showing some great tackling and kicking. Our boy's team took some brilliant scores against Cliffoney to progress onto the next round, where they just lost out to a strong Bunninadden team. Both teams kept battling right until the very end. Everyone showed great sportsmanship after the games, shaking hands and complementing the other teams. Well done to everyone involved on representing our school so well!

On Tuesday, 24th May, the senior classroom travelled to the Hawkswell Theatre where they played the violin as a group, and alongside other schools, in association with Music Generation. The children have been learning the violin since September so it was a great opportunity for the children to showcase the skills that they have learnt. A massive "Thank you" to our extremely talented instructor Giulia for all that she has taught us throughout the year. The children did brilliantly performing on stage as for many of the children it was their first time in front of a big audience.

The children have also been working hard in class learning about Egypt in History. They co-ordinated activities for the younger children as part of our Active Schools Week. Well done to everyone for their continued hard work.
