Road to Tokyo Challenge!
Tokyo Olympics Challenge – Road to Tokyo
https://roadtotokyo.daretobelieve.ie/
We are supporting our Irish sportspeople as they travel to Tokyo, Japan for the 2021 Olympics!
We will be doing our best to fit in as much physical activity as we can for the next 28 days (4th - 31st May). All of this activity will count as distance travelled to Tokyo. There will be stopovers en route for all involved, where students will learn about some of the Olympic Values, the history of the Games, and get some insights into the lives and sports of the Team Ireland athletes. There will be spot prizes, art challenges, and quizzes to make sure that all interests are catered for! The focus for this challenge is exploring the joy of effort and the wider benefits of sport and staying activity, with topics like teamwork, visualisation, motivation and goal setting discussed on the way. All movement will count, but has to be a minimum of 15 minutes to be logged.
The stops are Dublin, Athens, New Delhi, Fukuroi and Tokyo. All details and resources (videos, activities and log sheets) are all on the website.
Please tell your teacher if you completed any activity longer than 15 minutes at home and we will put it towards the school’s total! We will try to be as honest as we can about it :)
The school is divided up into two teams, Drimina Devils (4th – 6th class) and Junior Devils (Infants – 3rd Class). While we are all working together for the school total, it will be interesting to see which team gets to Tokyo first!!
Best of luck everyone and enjoy!!
